Dossier K. [2009]

Plot: Nazim Tahiri (Belrim Desani) finds out that his father has been murdered in Antwerp by members of the rival Gaba clan. Kanun, an Albanian law from the 15th century, forces Nazim to take revenge. He goes to Antwerp, where his godfather, Prenk Shehu (R. Kan Albay), leads the family mafia businesses.
Police officer Vincke (Keon De Bouw) is in charge of finding out what is going on in the world of the Albanian Mafia clans.

This starts off  with powerful opening scene between a wolf hunter in the Albanian mountains and an assassination in the port of Antwerp. The identities of the hunter and the murdered man aren't initially revealed, but the two are already visually connected.Vincke and Verstuyft investigate the case of the Antwerp victim, and the trail quickly leads to the local Albanian mafia. However, the burly local Albanian clan leader (R. Kan Albay), denies knowing the dead man.

Dossier K derives much of its atmosphere, and several clever plot points from an underworld that is part clan-based, part steeped in the traditions of a foreign culture. The rural Albanians respect for their book of laws and honor, the Kanun, plays a special role here, and is timely: Vincke and Verstuyft provide not only collegial banter but also have to butt heads with their unhelpful colleagues on the Belgian judiciary police, including Filip Peeters and Jappe Claes, with Claes especially impressive as the oily prosecutor. When one of Vincke and Verstuyft's colleagues, and a potential love interest, is caught in the line of fire, the film becomes unexpectedly moving and shows the day-to-day risks of police work.

A must watch if you like mob films like Eastern Promises or just like movies in general.

TRON: Legacy [2010]

Plot: Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world's leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn's Arcade -- a signal that could only come from his father-- he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a cyber universe -- a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

This film is just quite amazing to sum it up I mean it has amazing visuals and a pretty good storyline but there are some holes in the story but nothing you can't figure out with a little bit of thinking.

The film starts off with a the son of  Kevin Flynn not wanting any part of his fathers company Encom after his father disappearance, even though once a year he plays a practical trip on the company for old time sake. After receiving a page from his father Sam Flynn decides that he will go and investigate and this is when he gets brought into the program world where the film gets exciting and eventful.

After a couple of fights in the gladiator style arena Sam Flynn finds his father and they plan to escape from the program world that has had Kevin Flynn trapped for 20 years. This will prove to be hard since they have the evil Kevin Flynn named Clu on their tail. After meeting with a few people and trying to find a way out they start to head towards the exit and this is where the action really picks up.

Without spoiling it for anyone this movie is a must watch and if you love technology you will love what they did with this movie. Even though at some points you will feel puzzled about what is going on, with a little bit of thought you can come up with a conclusion.

Rio [2011]

Plot: Deep in the jungles of Brazil, the world's last surviving male blue macaw gets snatched by poachers and shipped to Minnesota, where he falls off the back of a truck and lands in the hands of an owlish little girl named Linda.Fifteen years later, Linda has matured into an owlish young woman (voiced by Leslie Mann) and Blu(Voiced by Jesse Eisenberg), her highly imaginative name for him, has morphed into a fussy, flightless thing who sips hot chocolate and speaks in the hurried nasal bursts of Jesse Eisenberg. Enter Tulio (Rodrigo Santoro), a nerdy Brazilian ornithologist who persuades Linda to haul Blu to Rio to mate with free spirit Jewel (Anne Hathaway), the last surviving female of the species. When the plan goes horribly wrong, as such plans are wont to do, Blu and Jewel wind up chained at the claw and held captive by vicious smuggler (Carlos Ponce) and his gang.

This movies visual effects are amazing and the music is superb and story line is a good one but I did find it to lack in humor. Rio is by far a rare animated film but it is certainly a  playful one that you and/or family will enjoy watching.

What I liked most about Rio was its energy, its energy is truly infectious at that. I wasn't expecting the writing to be this sharp and witty but it touches your heart to see such a small bird overcome so many obstacles just to be with his owner. The soundtrack has a huge amount of authentic Brazilian flavor and just ripples with zest. I loved the samba and bossa nova rhythms that pulsate throughout, and further fun is to be had in the spectacular Carnaeval finale.

Much of the humor of the film is kid friendly as is expected from this type of film and it is done very well but I do think it could have had more. There is enough for parents and adults audiences to keep them entertaining. My personal favorites were the double act Kipo (Robin Thicke) and Marcel (Carlos Ponce) who were the dumb henchmen for the poacher and outsmarted by a cockatoo. They have some of the best lines in the film. But the two characters Pedro the Red-crested Cardinal (will.i.am) and Nico the yellow canary (Jamie Fox) were annoying and pretty stereotypical.

Jesse Eisenberg gives a nerdy performance as his character is book-smart, but not adventurous at all, preferring to be safe with his owner. Compared to Anne Hathaway she is a feisty, strong female character who wants to explore and distrusts humans. Both learn from each other, for Blu that there is a wider world and for Jewel that not all humans are bad. As well as the bird love in the film there is also some nerd love which will be enjoyed by both adults and kids and will leave you happy at the end of the movie.

Overall I would recommend families and animiated lovers to go watch this film.

Sucker Punch [2011]

Plot: A young girl (Baby Doll) is locked away in a mental asylum by her abusive stepfather where she will undergo a lobotomy in five days time. Faced with unimaginable odds, she retreats to a fantastical world in her imagination where she and four other female inmates at the asylum, plot to escape the facility. The lines between reality and fantasy blur as Baby Doll and her four companions, as well as a mysterious guide, fight to retrieve the five items they need that will allow them to break free from their captors before it's too late...

Movie starts off with a great opening scene and doesn't stop the whole way through. The beginning of the movie sets the president for the rest of the movie and how it's flow will be and in my opinion the director/producer did a great job on hooking you on from the beginning.

The film stars Emily Browning as Baby Doll, a young woman committed to a mental institution after assaulting her stepfather with a pistol. Although she's watched closely by the administrator, Blue Jones (Oscar Isaac), and his resident psychiatrist, Dr. Gorski (Carla Gugino), Baby Doll soon meets fellow inmates Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), and Amber (Jamie Chung), and forms a tenuous friendship as their world transforms from an insane asylum into a brothel where they're the main attraction. But when Baby Doll discovers that the High Roller (Jon Hamm) is coming in five days to perform a lobotomy/ take her innocence, the five of them hatch a plan with the help of the Wise Man (Scott Glenn) to acquire a series of items which in theory should help her escape to freedom.

This is where the movie goes into a lot of CG scenes and you will love it, the slow motion scenes is amazing, the gun/samurai  fights are amazing and the Nazi-Zombies scene brings you back to Call of Duty: World At War. If you love video games then you will love watching these amazing scenes unfold in front of you and even if you don't play video games this film will still hook you on the amazing CG scenes.

When baby doll goes into her dance sequence is when every action scene starts off like a video game like its the next level to the game with some aspiring words from the films wise man. The story is a bit off at times but that's what the director/producer was going for is to make you talk about the movie even after you left the theater. This will make for good conversation as you try to figure out some of the holes in the film.

Overall I would recommend this movie for anyone that loves video games or anyone that loves fantasy movies and/or the occasional movie watcher.

SWAT - Firefight [2011]

Plot: A relentless government assassin (Robert Patrick) stalks the Detroit S.W.A.T. team in this explosive urban action thriller. Paul Cutler (Gabriel Macht) knows a thing or two about diffusing tense situations. An LAPD cop and anti-terrorism expert who accepts a job teaching hostage rescue tactics in Detroit, Cutler finds his reputation on the line after responding to a domestic dispute call black-ops hit man Walter Hatch (Patrick) and failing to save the hostage. Now, Walter is back, and he won't stop until the entire S.W.A.T. team is dead. Giancarlo Esposito and Kristanna Loken co-star.

This movie concludes that all straight to Dvd/Blu-Ray movies are essentially trash and not worth a watch.

The acting is terrible and it couldn't really get any worse even Robert Patrick's acting was just not there. The storyline is not well thought out at all, it seems as if they were making up the story as they go. The camera angels were weird at times such as when they would put it on the gun - just didn't look right. The action scenes were OK at best but I was expecting a lot more coming from this movie.

I mean the original SWAT film was pretty good so you would expect this one to be as well, but its a big let down in so many ways. I would deffinitly not recommend anyone to waste their time watching this movie, this is a must skip overall.

Toy Story 3 [2010]

Plot: Woody, Buzz and the whole gang are back. As their owner Andy prepares to depart for college, his loyal toys find themselves in daycare where untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice. So, it's all for one and one for all as they join Barbie's counterpart Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants and a pink, strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear to plan their great escape

What can I say about this movie other than its one of the best Toy Story films put out to date, it goes into the concept of the boy finally leaving for college and leaving his toys behind. This film is a mix of Toy Story meets Prison Break and I would go as far as to say Toy Story 3 is way better then Prison Break. Toy Story 3 is hilarious, heartbreaking and original.

The storyline is on point and it will make your heartbreak at times and a second latter have you laughing your head off, the voice overs were also on point as the voices matches the toys actions perfectly. The sad moments in this film will make you tear up and the happy moments will make you laugh out loud like your a little kid again.

The movie overall was amazing the quality was on point, the voice overs were on point, the camera angels are on point and the storyline is definitely on point. I would suggest watching this with the family or girlfriend/fiance/wife as there is something in this movie for everyone.

The A-Team [2010]

Plot: Four American soldiers who are in Iraq are sent on a mission to recover plates for printing 100 dollar bills that were used to print a billion dollars. After doing the job and returning to the base their commanding officer is killed in an explosion and the plates are stolen by another operative. They would be court martialed and sent to different prisons. 6 months later, the leader, Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates. But after doing it, they discover that the spook might not be ok. And a military intelligence officer who was involved with one of them is pursuing them.

This movie is an action packed film with a bunch familiar faces to the action film world such as Liam Nelson (Colonel Hannibal Smith), Bradley Cooper (Lt. 'Faceman' Peck), Jessica Biel (Charissa Sosa),Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson (B.A. Baracus) & Sharlto Copley (Captain H.M. Murdock). With this kind of line up how can you not like the movie and the director does not skip in script or film quality because of this outstanding case which is the best part of the movie.

The acting is on point on almost every scene and the background music is superb. Action should be this movies middle name as you barley go into a scene without seeing some kind of action going on which is the best part of the movie. With all the serious parts in the movie I love how the director incorporated a lot of jokes and funny scenes in the movie to make it more enjoyable for the viewer.

What surprised me the most was Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson as B.A. Baracus, his acting was on point even though his and MMA fighter he did very well in this film and we will probably be seeing him in many more movies to come. Liam Nelson as usual takes the lead role or head of team and does an amazing job in his role as usual. Jessica Biel and Bradley Cooper have romance in the movie which both shine in and Bradley Cooper also does an exceptional job in his action scenes and Sharlto Copley also plays a great supporting role.

Overall I would suggest this movie to anyone that loves action movies and or to an occasional action movie watcher as its not all serious action.

Psych 9 [2010]

Plot:On the list of worst job descriptions: file clerk in a spooky, rundown, recently closed hospital… on the night shift. But this is the very job taken by Roslyn (Sara Foster), a troubled young woman looking for peace and quiet. Unfortunately for Roslyn, Psych: 9, an offering from Ghost House Underground's line of straight-to-video shockers, offers little of either. To make matters edgier for our high-strung heroine, a serial killer known as the Nighthawk has been murdering women in very near proximity to the hospital. Well, a job is a job in these uncertain economic times, and where would horror movies be if young women didn't occasionally work night shifts at abandoned hospitals? Whatever promise Psych: 9 holds as a genre exercise quickly dissipates in its one-note design and its unlikely, borderline-incoherent plot turns. Foster gives a gutsy enough performance, with support from alienated husband Gabriel Mann, sympathetic doctor Cary Elwes, and unsympathetic detective Michael Biehn. When the third act's big reveal is a device most casual moviegoers will be able to spot at least an hour earlier, a movie is in trouble. This one has a terminal condition.

Let me start off by saying were they kidding when they said this is a Horror, Mystery & Thriller? This movie starts off bad and just keeps going downhill, it also seems as if the director does not know what they wanted to do with movie as it takes some weird turns but does not explain why or even give background. Sara Foster and Cary Elwes make this whole movie as their acting is on point especially Cary Elwes as Dr. Clement which is probably his best roll after his roll in Saw.
Psych 9 does not know which direction to take is it either a supernatural horror film or a serial killer horror film or a delusional horror film, either way it puts all these together thinking it will be a good movie but fails miserably. There are some scenes in the movie that could resemble a horror film but the movie is so horribly directed that you start to wonder what the hell your watching. Feels like a low budget kinda movie with weird angles and green color editing to make the movie feel more of a horror film. To my surprise there was not a lot of gore or any real scary moments in the movie.

Psych 9 tried to tell a story about a sexually abused girl with a lot of psychological problems and trying to sort them out after not being able to have a baby with her husband. Then the movie takes a turn into some serial killer killing women at night time and a detective trying to figure out who the killer is.

Without spoiling it for anyone I'd have to say the last 10 minutes are the most confusing of the entire movie as the story starts to unfold it still is unclear of what is going on and while your trying to figure that out the movie just goes into some weird scenes that should definitely not be in the movie.

Overall I thought it was a waste of my time and would NEVER recommend anyone to watch this movie.

Fair Game [2010]

Plot: A suspense-filled glimpse into the dark corridors of political power, 'Fair Game' is a riveting action-thriller based on the autobiography of real-life undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame (Naomi Watts), whose career was destroyed and marriage strained to its limits when her covert identity was exposed by a politically motivated press leak. As a covert officer in the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division, Valerie leads an investigation into the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Valerie's husband, diplomat Joe Wilson (Sean Penn), is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. But when the administration ignores his findings and uses the issue to support the call to war, Joe writes a New York Times editorial outlining his conclusions and ignites a firestorm of controversy.

This movie starts off a bit slow but it picks up midway and this is where it gets very interesting as the thriller part of this movie begins and grabs a hold of you and never really lets go. A true story told on film of what really happened before the invasion of Iraq during the Bush administration and told from the other side for once in a very dramatic way.

This movie goes into specific details about how our own government can and will betray you to save their own face. This is well told by the director in my opinion and I feel the acting was on point and superb as the drama in real life is portrayed very well in this movie. Fair game goes deeper then just a government scandal but also shows how that scandal effected a marriage and in a very dramatic way.

Overall this is a good movie to watch and would recommend Fair Game to anyone interested in watching political thrillers or dramatic movies in general.

Stone [2010]

Plot: Parole officer Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro) has only a few weeks left before retirement and wishes to finish out the cases he's been assigned. One such case is that of Gerald "Stone" Creeson (Edward Norton), a convicted arsonist who is up for parole. Jack is initially reluctant to indulge Stone in the coarse banter he wishes to pursue and feels little sympathy for the prisoner's pleads for an early release. Seeing little hope in convincing Jack himself, Stone arranges for his wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich) to seduce the officer, but motives and intentions steadily blur amidst the passions and buried secrets of the corrupted players in this deadly game of deception.

Stone starts off pretty interesting but never really seems to pick up along the way but it is pretty entertaining to watch 3 greats actors on a screen together. The acting is superb but the storyline is a little off at times and not a lot of background story to really understand what is going on with the characters. At times you feel like the storyline takes so weird turns and then does not explain why but the amazing acting holds your interest to just brush it off and keep watching.

I would say my expectations of the movie coming in where way higher because of the outstanding lineup of actors but I'm not gonna lie I was disappointed but still was a good movie to watch and at times very entertaining. Edward Norton's acting in this movie though if very superb and on point with all his facial expressions and gestures as a white thug in prison for a crime he allegedly did not commit. Milla Jovovich was also on point with her acting and honestly it was something you do not expect as she barley plays in any movie with a serious act but more of a sarcastic feel to them, but in Stone she really shines especially when trying to seduce Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro).

I feel that Stone tried too hard to explore spirituality  and religion but failed along the way. What also failed in this movie was the fact that it was supposed to be a Thriller but ended up being more of a Drama with no thrills at all.

Overall its a movie that you watch once and don't really get the urge to watch again.

The Mechanic [2011]

Plot: Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a "mechanic" -- an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. It's a job that requires professional perfection and total detachment, and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached. His next assignment is self-imposed -- he wants those responsible dead. His mission grows complicated when Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal and a determination to learn Bishop's trade. Bishop has always acted alone but he can't turn his back on Harry's son. A methodical hit man takes an impulsive student deep into his world and a deadly partnership is born. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.

This movie grabs on to you from begging and doesn't really let go, the action is there the plot is pretty good but don't get me wrong its not like its never been done before but who cares if it has as every movie has done a scene from another movie so lets not get into that. The point is Jason Statham as usual does his best action character and surprisingly so does Ben Foster and with a little good directing and some sex scenes makes for a good action film.

It starts off pretty action packed from the begging with Arthur Bishop killing right off the start and then slows down a bit to give you some background. You come to find out that Bishops friend Harry was involved in some undercover plot to let a Target know about the contract that is out on him, which leads to 5 contracts being dead because of it. This is when the plot thickens and you start to see what kind of person Arthur Bishop really is.

This is when Harry's son comes in full of revenge and needs Arthur's help to become a contract killer like himself. This is when the movie goes into some Karate Kid scenes with Arthur (Jason Statham) teaching Steve (Ben Foster) how to become a contract killer. This makes for some good gun shooting scenes and an action packed fight with a 300 contract killer.

Anyways Arthur comes to find out he was double crossed by his boss and leads on mission to kill him. The action at this point is very well done and the scenes are great. The ending you will find is a bit predictable but inevitable as the story leads up to it and you can foresee it from the middle of the movie. Even though you kinda figure out whats going to happen you still want to sit there and watch it as the action will grab on to you and you don't want to let go.

Overall the movie is pretty good, the acting was on point and the action scenes were not overdone. Definitely a good watch for the Jason Statham movie lovers and also for the casual action movie watcher.

All-Star Superman [2011]

Plot: Lex Luthor enacts his plan to rid the world of Superman, once and for all. Succeeding with solar radiation poisoning, the Man of Steel is slowly dying. With what little time remains, the Last Son of Krypton must confront the revealing of his secret identity to Lois Lane and face Luthor in a final battle.

All Star Superman is a mix of fast paced stories told in one movie which will keep you entertained  if your a Superman fan and know the story of superman and his villains but can be a bit confusing for the casual movie watcher. The graphics are good but not superb in which today's technology with animation would lead us to believe that it should be. The story is good and predictable which most Superman movies are but its all put together well for one who knows his history on Superman.

Lex Luthor is portrayed very well in this movie as Superman's greatest arch-enemy and it seems that from the beginning of the movie he seems to pull off what he always wanted to do which is kill Superman in this case send him on a mission to the sun which Superman gets to close to and ends up finding out he is slowly dying from the. The sun which gives Superman his powers has now turned on him and is slowly killing him, where Superman finds this out he feels that he needs to tie up some loose ends especially with Lois Lane.

This is the heart of the story as Lois Lane gets a gift from Superman on her birthday which gives her his powers for 24 hours, this leads to them having a date and a love story during the movie. Some of the stuff that happens seems a bit silly but nonetheless gives the movie a good storyline.

I do feel though some of the stuff could have been better such as the graphics and the storyline (eg. some stuff left out as it was not necessary to put them in). Overall I would say this is a good movie to watch for anyone that loves Superman and his story and especially for Superman geeks :).

Ticking Clock [2011]

Plot: Lewis Hicks (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a reporter and journalist specializing in writing about the crime of murder. Instead of writing his next story, Lewis becomes the story when his new girlfriend is sadistically murdered, and he is the only suspect. Lewis investigates the murder himself and finds the killer's journal with his past victims and a death list of his future prey. Lewis believes that he is the only person who can stop the killer before time runs out for his next victim.

Starts off slow and nothing excited, the movie pretty much drags on and the with some gory scenes here and there with some terrible acting. What the hell was Cuba Gooding Jr. thinking about when he said yes to this movie? Looks more like a low budget movie made by someone just starting in the movie industry.

There's a lot of cat and mouse chasing scenes in Ticking Clock from both Lewis Hicks with the killer and the cop with Lewis Hicks, he gets accused of doing all these murders because he stumbles unto the killers scrapbook and figures out his going to kill again and knows when. Every time he goes to save the person the killer is going to kill the killer ends up disappearing and leaving him left behind to hold the bag so to say.

Basically the whole movie is about Lewis Hicks (Cuba Gooding Jr.) trying to stop the killer but at the same time clear his own name. A story that is told way to often and here the story and acting where both terrible and its sad because you could see the movie has potential but no where near with that kind of script.

Overall I would say to skip this movie in its entirety and just watch something else as you will feel like its a waste of time.

Grown Ups [2010]

Plot: In 1978, five 12-year-olds win a CYO basketball championship. Thirty years later, they gather with their families for their coach's funeral and a weekend at a house on a lake where they used to party. By now, each is a grownup with problems and challenges: Marcus is alone and drinks too much. Rob, with three daughters he rarely sees, is always deeply in love until he turns on his next ex-wife. Eric is overweight and out of work. Kurt is a househusband, henpecked by wife and mother-in-law. Lenny is a successful Hollywood agent married to a fashion designer; their kids take privilege for granted. Can the outdoors help these grownups rediscover connections or is this chaos in the making?

Just finished watching this and I'd have to say it was OK and nothing really hilarious like Adam Sandler's older movies.

It starts off pretty slow and not funny at all but there are moments when one of the jokes will make you chuckle but not really think about it twice. The pretty corny jokes go on pretty much the whole movie and you seem to say to yourself why the fuck am I watching this right now and then one good funny joke appears and it seems to just get you by to the next one. They seemed to make way to many jokes which really got old and pretty quickly might I add.

The story is not really a bad one and in my opinion could have been told better but it was pretty predictable at times as Adam Sandler's newer movies are. There are some pretty gross moments with Rob Schneider and his movie wife and the old gradma with her bunions, which will make you say ahhh what the fuck.

Overall Grown Ups is a movie you watch once and never really want to watch again, probably a good movie to watch with a girlfriend or fiance/wife. Not really a waste of time but somewhere in between, I could have done something better with my time and well some of the jokes were pretty funny.

Unthinkable [2010]

Plot:Unthinkable hovers around a terrorist who has planted three nuclear bombs in United States of America and a black ops interrogator who is responsible to make that surrendered terrorist in divulging the locations of those bombs. As the story progresses it is witnessed that a combination of psychological techniques and extreme torture is applied on the terrorist who knows more than he claims he knows.

This movie grabs a hold of you from the begging and never really lets go, there is definitely a thriller feel as you seem to try to figure out whats going to happen next and how much torture one man can take and if they will find the bombs or not. As the story progresses you see a good cop(Agent Helen Brody) bad cop(H' Humphries) go into play and most of the movie revolves around this kind of method. Which is great as you get to see both sides of a human being - one that will inflict as much pain as he can to get the truth out and one that thinks by speaking to someone she will get the truth out.

This movie goes into great detail between being moral and human survival tactics, always questioning how far one will go to save him/her self and his/her families and billions of innocent people in the crossfire. This however is set at a slow pace within the movie which makes for a better understanding of "Unthinkable", rather then just getting to the point. When the unthinkable grabs you mostly in the last 30 minutes your in for a hell of a ride and what a ride it is.

I did think though that the ending scene was a bit dull and could have been more dramatic and without giving anything anyway I will say it could have gone into more detail at the ending scene rather then just cutting away when it did.

Overall I have to say that I enjoyed this movie and I am sure you will too, no matter if your a thriller/drama lover (like myself) or just the occasional movie watcher this will definitely entertain you/guest.

Event Horizon [1997]

Plot: In the year 2047 a group of astronauts are sent to investigate and salvage the long lost starship "Event Horizon". The ship disappeared mysteriously 7 years before on its maiden voyage and with its return comes even more mystery as the crew of the "Lewis and Clark" discover the real truth behind its disappearance and something even more terrifying.

This movie definitely had me going from beginning to end, a movie way ahead of it time!

It starts off slow but humorous as any good horror/thriller film should, but about ten minutes into the movie and you start to pick up the beautiful visuals of the event horizon. About a quarter into the movie and you start to see the horror/gore parts of the movie which isn't for all but if you can stomach it then it’s definitely a great movie to watch.

The visuals and plot is way ahead of it time (1997) especially watched on Blu-Ray you can see the quality of work that they put in to make everything look so realistic and horrific at times. The sound quality is amazing as well as from time to time they cut into some horrific/gory scenes with amazing audio which will scare you until the next scene.

The plot unfolds its self during the movie and in a progressive way in which the director is trying to explain to you detail by detail of what happened during this whole movie. By the end of this horror/thriller/gore film there seem to be no holes in the storyline, nothing to leave you wondering "what the hell happened in this movie?". The actors were the upside to this film as at some points of the movie it seemed to be a bit of a weird plot but the actors/actresses played the parts so well that the movie continued flowing well within any weird scenes.

Overall this is a must watch for horror/thriller fanatics or even the occasional horror film watcher.

The Resident [2011]

Plot: Every year, three million single women in America move into an apartment for the first time. They do not know who lived in the apartment before them, they do not know their landlords, and they dont bother to change the locks. This is the story of one such woman. After separating from her husband, pretty young doctor Juliet Dermer moves to Brooklyn, settling into a new life in a stunning and spacious loft apartment that seems too good to be true. It is...Mysterious occurrences lead her to suspect that she is not alone in her home and quickly her fears become all too real

So I just finished watching "The Resident" and I'm going to say what a waste of my time!

It started off pretty good and with a couple of good actors/actresses it seems like something great is going to come out of this - Well what a big fucking let down. Not only did this movie have the potential to be a good thriller/horror film but it also had the potential to make a lot of money and win Oscars.

Anyways the reveal of the plot was way to early and the plot itself seems meaningless, seems like no one put any thought into this script. The acting was great from both Hilary Swank & Jeffrey Dean Morgan, you also see Christopher Lee in a couple of scenes which IMO he played great as usual. The rest of the movie was a bore and nothing but boredom comes to mind if I start to think back on what I just watched. I can see why they skipped the shame of a theater showing and went directly to DVD/Blu-Ray.

Basically what I'm saying is skip this movie in its entirety!

Cleaner [2007]

PLOT: A single father and former cop Tom Cutler has an unusual occupation: he owns and operates a crime scene clean up company, and performs much of the duties himself. When he is called in to sterilize a wealthy suburban residence after a brutal shooting, Cutler is shocked to learn he may have unknowingly erased crucial evidence, and become entangled in a dirty criminal cover-up.

Let me start off by saying this is a good movie overall - Yes a bit slow at the start but it kept me wanting to know more even though I figured out the plot early in the movie, it was still pretty interesting and felt like I needed to see more.

This movie is not one to surprise you or even throw you back at the end of the movie like WTF happened, yes it's been done before and probably in the same manner but still with all the great actors/actresses in the movie they will keep you entertained and wanting to watch more.

Don't get me wrong this movie is by far a great thriller/crime film but it is a good one and one that you will enjoy watching and not feel like it was a waste of your time. But if you are looking for action this movie lacks it, this is not a thriller/crime/action film but more of a relaxed thriller/crime movie.

The Ghost Writer [2010]

PLOT: A ghostwriter hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy.

Let me start with - Thriller/Suspense where were you in this movie?

It seemed pretty obvious from the beginning of this movie that it was going to be boring, I mean it started off pretty slow and had maybe one or two scenes which would keep you at the edge of your feet. Everything was pretty much predictable and the only thing that was out of the ordinary and suspenseful was the ending, which I will gladly admit I did not see coming.

No I didn't want to see more blood/terror in the movie but I did want to see more of a suspense and thriller from it, more along the lines of some more twists and turns like the ending of the movie. The movie had a pretty slow start and it continued until about 3/4 of the movie, you can easily argue that the last quarter of the movie was the whole movie, well at least the good parts of the movie.

Overall I was not impressed or felt like it was good use of my time nor would I recommend anyone to waste their time watching this film.
